FAQS

  • Why do I have to share an official document?

Opinion Outpost is owned by Dynata, the world’s largest first-party data company. Collecting accurate and reliable data through survey responses is what our business is built on, without which we wouldn’t be able to operate or provide our members with the rewards they enjoy the most.

Because market research is such a highly regulated industry, proof of identity in the form of government issued IDs is the fastest, securest and most dependable way to ensure that someone is who they say they are.

  • I’m not convinced I can trust Veriff! Are they really trustworthy?

Yes, Veriff is a trusted company! They are CCPA, GDPR, WCAG, SOC2 type II and ISO 27001 compliant. This means they adhere to stringent measures that keep your information safe.

The ISO 27001, for example, is the international standard for information security management systems.

Being ISO 27001 certified means that Veriff has put in place a system to manage risks regarding data security, and that they are able to manage information securely.

Still not convinced? Here is a list of leading brands that use Veriff for verification.

  • Is Veriff's location a cause for concern?

No. Veriff is located in Estonia, a member of the European Union. As an EU member state, Estonia is bound by EU law, including data protection regulations such as the GDPR. Estonia is also known for being Europe’s leading technological powerhouse. Here are some examples of Estonia’s leadership in the tech industry:

    · The NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence is located in Estonia.

    · Estonia is home to the European Union’s IT Agency.

    · Leading tech companies such as Skype and TransferWise were founded in Estonia.

  • What does Veriff do with my information?

First of all, Veriff will use your ID and selfie to confirm your identity.

Veriff will only share your information with Opinion Outpost.

Secondly, veriff will store your data for a limited period of time.

They will only keep your data for as long as it is necessary by law, contract or for them to carry out their services.

Lastly, your data will be encrypted and remain secure.

Veriff will encrypt your information at rest and in-transit. This means that it will be converted into a code that can only be accessed or decrypted by someone with the right encryption key.

This will prevent unauthorised access to your data and will ensure that any transfer or use of your information will remain 100% confidential.

Veriff also has SOC 2 Type 2 compliance certification, which demonstrates that their systems are able to keep your information safe.

  • I joined the panel before you introduced Veriff. Why didn’t you tell me I needed to verify?

Veriff is used very rarely, so not every member will need to verify.

In any case, we informed our members about Veriff on the rewards page as well as this dedicated Veriff page.

Going forward, we will continue to be transparent about Veriff by making the process as clear and easy to understand as possible.

  • Is Veriff compliant with local data collection and consumer protection regulations?

Veriff is compliant with The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • What if I accidentally upload a blurry photo?

Don’t worry! Veriff’s system will automatically detect if you’ve uploaded a blurry photo and will prevent you from completing the process until you upload a clear one. That means you’ll be able to retake photos as many times as you need.

  • I’m a long-time member - why do I need to verify?

If you’ve been asked to verify, you have been automatically flagged by our system.

A member can be flagged through various different ways (e.g., coasting through surveys, accidentally providing inconsistent information etc.,).

We understand that some trustworthy members will be ‘caught in the crossfire’ so to speak. In these rare cases, we kindly ask for your cooperation and understanding about the necessity of the situation.

Please know that we value and greatly appreciate your membership; Opinion Outpost would not be where it is without members like you.

  • I haven’t been asked to verify – is something wrong?

Only members who have been automatically flagged by our system will be asked to verify through Veriff.

  • What if I don’t want to verify?

We understand that you might be apprehensive about verifying through Veriff. Should you wish to not verify, you can still use Opinion Outpost but you won't be able to redeem any rewards. If you successfully verify yourself, you can continue to redeem and enjoy rewards.

  • My verification failed. What happens now?

Your account will be temporarily locked. You’ll need to reach out to Member Support who will be able to help. Please click here to open the support widget. Scroll to the bottom of the widget, click 'Contact us,' then fill in the form with “Veriff verification failed” as the subject and ‘Other’ as the topic.
