Companies that conduct market research look for the opinions of a specific group of people called the ‘intended’ or ‘target audience’ (e.g., bakers, bikers, dog owners, Android users, etc.).
That’s why every time you click on a survey tile, you’ll land on a page that says, “Start Qualification”. This is just the process which lets us know if you’re the perfect fit for a particular survey i.e., if you’re part of the survey’s target group.
At the end of the qualification stage, you either get matched to a survey or get ‘screened out’ .Screened out is basically the term used when a person isn’t eligible for a particular survey.
You don’t just get screened out if you’re not part of a survey’s target group.
Sometimes, even if you’re exactly who the survey is looking for, if enough of the target audience complete a survey, you’ll be screened out due to ‘quota full’. This is just a fancy way of saying the market researcher has already collected enough responses needed from your target group (hence why the survey is no longer available to you).
When it comes to market research – data (or shall we say, your survey responses) is key. That’s why as market research providers, we’re big on data quality. But what does this all mean?
In practical terms, we have stringent measures to weed out dishonest activity, which is why it’s ever so important that our members do the P-A-T:
This is to avoid getting flagged by our system and ‘quarantined’ (when a member has their account frozen until further investigation).
